Daily Draw February 2012: Part 1

Daily Draw February 2012 on good ole Satellite Soda A couple of the Sketch Tavern Forum guys put it on and its great. The challenge is to draw everyday and try to challenge yourself artistically while doing it. The real challenge for me is just drawing for myself everyday with an 8 month old. Some are good.... some really missed the mark, but I thought I'd throw it up anyway.

Finally adding a little color to a few older pieces. I always liked the whimsy of this one.

I'm really enjoying the New DC Universe. So I tried drawing Jim Lee's new Batman and realized I need a very clear modelsheet and should have started drawing an inch higher on the paper so his right foot would be there. Oh well!

Master of the Universe

He-Man was my very first action hero as a kid. So he's always been special to me, even though the concept is ridiculous. When your 5, he is the coolest thing ever!

MEGAMIND!!!

I loved the film and I especially love how they thought of Megamind as Alice Cooper and Metroman as Elvis.

Batman Reborn Sketches

So I love drawing Batman, and i loved Frank Quitely's dick and damian as batman and robin so i sketched these out a while ago.

I picked up Darkwing Duck at Costco last week and I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I'm really enjoying it.

P.S. I like it cause its a comedic version of Batman and the Shadow as a dark.

New Caricature of Me

I was messing around and kind of landed on this. I find it difficult to draw my own damn head. And yet I thought this looked fun.

OMEGAH Proposal

So I did these character design this past winter for a writer who has a great pitch. I don't want to say anything on the story, because I thought it was great! AND I'm still hoping he and I can do it sometime down the road (as soon as a publisher comes on board) The Characters were created by Darren Vincenzo and Chris Gugliotti. The only thing I will say (and I hope Darren doesn't mind) is that Dee is 13 yr old boy and he built all of his animal robot friends.

Clean Cut Lawn Care Logo

My buddy Brock has a Lawn Care business and wondered if I could do a logo for him. All he told me was he wanted his mower involved. I was going for something simple and basic. I was kind of thinking the AOL IM guy or a pedestrian sign. It was an interesting challenge, I don't think I pulled it off that well.

My next project

As soon as I finish "The Hen" Comic (coming along nicely) I want to animate a little short I'm calling "THE BUNNY ASSASSIN" I've done 2 drawings of the character yrs ago. But I'm just recently getting excited about the story and entertainment potential. So here he is. He's lanky with a lil bow and a spear like arrow so that I can push his poses to absolute ridiculous extremes. I also love the idea that his hat is the back end of a bunny.

Actually put in my own clouds rather then that picture stuff and added his other foot. I've still got a few things I'd like to do to it.

Dark Knight vs. Shellhead

After watching Ironman 2 last weekend I decided that these 2 really are 2 opposite sides of the same coin. And yes I know everyone else has known this for years. I know its super rough, but it was just a fun little experiment.

Colored up one of the dragons I did. It was fun, but now I'm looking for others thoughts?

This is gonna Hurt w/ Color

Slapped a little color on it. I cleaned it up with pencil for once. I've been trying to only color on the computer. Thoughts??? God knows the piece needs improvements and any help would be greatly appreciated.

A strange little idea, but I thought it was fun. My buddy Jason helped me with it. I couldn't figure out what to have him looking at that she would smack him for. Then Jason came to the rescue with the centerfold!

The Ginger

My buddy, Josh, at work is a true character. I'd love to animate him doing something, because he has very clear ideas and rules for his actions. Plus being so lanky. The "Droid!" thing is because he had a Android phone and it always rings "DROID!" when he gets a text. Anyway, The Ginger is a fun character. (Oh, and the Basketball Ginger)
